Comprehensive Eye Testing

Regular routine eye testing is your key to eye health and wellbeing. Using the latest digital diagnostic technologies, our optometrists are experts in diagnosing, treating and analysing your vision. Regular eye testing can not only benefit your sight, it can uncover a range of broader health issues. Through your eyes, detection of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, vitamin deficiencies and more can be uncovered! It is recommended that you have your eyes tested every two years, and yearly if you are over the age of 50.

Children's Optometry

A child’s eyes are their biggest learning tool, with that in mind it is essential to ensure that your child’s sight is at its best. If you notice that your child is squinting, avoiding fine motor skill tasks or unable to visualise things afar, it is possible their vision may be the culprit. Regular eye examinations are just as important for children as they are for adults, a check-up every two years is recommended for your little ones, especially once they begin school.

Orthokeratology

Changing your sight overnight! Orthokeratology is the science of specially designed contact lenses to perfectly match your eye. Ortho K lenses are designed to be worn overnight and act to control myopia, by flattening the corneal surface. This re-shaping of the cornea can be likened to the use of braces in straightening your teeth. Through the use of Ortho K, your cornea will gradually change surface shape, slowing the progression of myopia particularly in children and young adults.

Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are a great alternative to glasses, they are suitable for those who experience refractive errors such as astigmatism, myopia, hyperopia and presbyopia. If your occupation makes it difficult to wear glasses, or you just don’t particularly enjoy wearing glasses, contact lenses are for you! We have a range of contact lens options available to you, these include; weekly and daily lenses as well as hard and soft options. Even those with complex prescriptions, including individuals who wear multifocal lenses, thanks to new lens technologies you can have the option of contact lenses too!

Digital Eye Strain

In the digital age we live amongst, Digital Eye Strain has never been more prominent in society as a result of blue light emitting screens. Although annoying for sufferers, with input from our optometrists, often this frustrating issue is easily managed and eradicated. Both prescription and non prescription glasses can include lenses that have an embedded blue-light blocker, which acts to combat digital eye strain. Both adults and children are at risk of suffering digital eye-strain which can occur after just 2 hours of close to mid-distance screen-time.

Myopia Management

1 in every 3 people experience myopia, more commonly referred to as short-sightedness. Whether mild or extreme, myopia management is essential for visual comfort. Due to the advancement of lens technologies in both spectacle and contact lenses, our practitioners now have the ability to gain control of myopia. Particularly in children and young adults, we can achieve a slowing of myopia progression through the use of these specially designed lenses.
Managing myopia in your younger years can lead to more positive long-term visual outcomes.
